An opportunity to take an interactive tour of Golesz Castle, a theatrical performance, a
happening and a performance by the Lemko ethnic group «Ruty Uwite» were the
attractions that awaited the participants of the «Feast at Golesz Castle». The event took
place on January 20, 2024 at the Primary School in Bieździedzha, and was organized by
the Subcarpathian Association for Active Families and the municipality of Kołaczyce.
The main attraction of the event will be the opportunity to take an interactive tour of Golesz
Castle. What will it consist of? The organizers have prepared a special radio play so that
visitors could learn about the history of the monument by walking through its ruins or from
any location.
“Golesz Castle is undoubtedly one of the most interesting attractions of our municipality. It is
associated with many interesting legends, and the entire complex of the Golesz reserve is
extremely charming and attracts tourists. We are pleased that under the project
«Podkarpacka kultura bez barier» we can further promote the value and cultural heritage of
our municipality. Importantly, the local community was involved in the organization of the
event, thanks to which it abounded in attractions referring to the traditions of our region.
«The Feast at Golesz Castle was a feast not only for the body, but also for the spirit» says
Adam Kmiecik, deputy mayor of the Kołaczyce municipality.
The event titled «Feast at Golesz Castle» is the next stage of the «Subcarpathian Culture
without Barriers» project, which aims to support and develop the entrepreneurship of local
artists, artists, cultural heritage institutions and cultural centers from 5 Subcarpathian
municipalities. As part of the project, each municipality has developed a long-term strategy
for audience development and cultural entrepreneurship, which will provide the foundation
for local cultural events.
