Faktuell project again welcomes young talents in a workshop. This time at Deichmanske bibliotek. On Wednesday Oslo teenagers had a chance to get acquainted with the foundation of modern media and communications – basic principles in journalism.
During a humorous game where everybody had to say several facts about themselves with two lies and afterwards guess what was wrong the participants learned first and foremost to be critical towards the facts. In the modern world facts can be checked easily. For example, via Google or Facebook.
After a short lecture on source criticism and topic selection in journalism participants tried to find interesting articles in the newspapers and explain why they seem to be important.
For the final task teenagers were asked to answer the question: Who takes the main responsibility for information publication in a media company. Not everybody got the right answer.
The meeting proceeded to dinner and informal debate.
