– One of our foundational principle is sharing and learning through cooperation. By building international partnerships with both civil societies, NGOs and educational institutions, we both exchange experiences and also strengthen the capacity to carry out more inclusive and exciting projects internationally. The international projects we carry out focus on fundamental themes of media literacy, civic participation and development of an inclusive media landscape for all.
Romania – Digital Literacy for High School Student to Fight Hate Speech and Discrimination in the Media
Supported by EEA Grants, the project Digital Literacy for High School Students to Fight Hate Speech and Discrimination in the Media contributes toward the ducation of the high school students in the spirit of tolerance and inclusion. It develops media competences that will allow them a critical reception of the media discourse, as well as a responsible presence in the public sphere, as „online content generators”. The courses for high school students (identified as being highly intolerant) held in 10 cities are doubled by courses for teachers and journalists, bloggers and civic activists in the same communities. With the support of the teachers, civic activists and journalists/bloggers, the students will plan and run advocacy campaigns aimed at fighting discrimination and hate speech, thus practicing models of public participation and citizens’ empowering. The project is run by The Center for Independent Journalism, in partnership with Norsensus Mediaforum, that will secure the know-how transfer in the field of media literacy programs for youth in Romania.

Youth Media in Euroasia
The New Sage brings original, engaging, and seldom heard views and local-wise reporting by young local activists and scholars from around the world to readers everywhere. By offering fresh and youth perspectives on our changing world from those who are going to be future stake-holders, The New Sages aims to create a new venue for informed public debate on local and global issues.
Our contributors include activists of civic organizations, young artists, university students, leaders of youth branches of political parties and many civically engaged young scholars aged between 18 and 30. We bring ideas and insights from the young people on the ground who are actively contributing for shaping their bright future.
