The project focuses on increasing the transparency of urban development in Prague, and stregthening of the civic capacities in the related decision making processes. It combines expert outputs and necessary data analyses, legal and expert consultancy including representation of the citizens in spatial planning and construction permitting, and also practical field activities.
A complex information campaign is part of the project, including networking and joint actions of Prague civic initiatives. The project will contribute to sustainability of the metropolis in the context of environmental and housing crisis, and will increase the cooperation between the authorities and inhabitants. The project targets two main groups: the broader public and the local authorities. In broader context addresses also the field experts, who work on the crucial regulatory documents and plans.
The Norsensus Mediaforum, as the Project Partner, support the initiative by:
- Providing media strategy – workshops targeted on mapping of actors, the position of the organization, short/long-term aims, development of campaign instruments, development of thematic storytelling creation of a media campaign tailored to the Prague City for Life campaign
- Providing consultations on media strategy and good practice in the area.
The project is supported by Active Citizens Fund program, the aim of which is to support civil society and strengthen the capacities of non-profit organizations. The Active Citizens Fund is financed from EEA and Norway Grants 2022–2024. With EEA Grants, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway contribute towards a reduction in economic and social disparity and the strengthening of mutual cooperation in Europe. One of the important objectives of the programme is strengthening bilateral cooperation between donor and beneficiary states through financial contributions in specified priority sectors.
