Trzciana was the venue for the «Świlczańska carol in harmony withtradition» as part of the Subcarpathian Culture Without Barriers project

The highlight of the program was a live performance by the Maria and Josef Dziedzic
Ceremonial Group. Thanks to their commitment and passion, attendees could be
transported to the world of old Christmas traditions in the Świlcza municipality.
Colorful costumes, authentic props and carefully prepared scenery made it possible for
the audience to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of times gone by.

Participants of the event had the opportunity to experience a completely new form of
representation of ancient Christmas Eve rituals using virtual reality technology. Thanks to
special VR goggles, viewers were transported into the world of old holidays, experiencing the
magical Christmas Eve atmosphere of the early 20th century. The Subcarpathian Association
is implementing innovations in Subcarpathian municipalities and combining tradition with
modernity. Why? Among other things, it’s about successfully attracting the interest of the
younger generation. Thanks to innovation, we can not only preserve cultural heritage, but also
make it more dynamic and attuned to the changing world, thus inspiring the next generation to
cherish the heritage of their ancestors.

During the event there were also moments of reflection and reminiscence. Videos with
memories of old Christmas traditions in the Świlcza municipality were presented, which
allowed the audience to travel back in time and understand how customs and traditions related
to Christmas have changed. The recorded memories of the oldest residents of the Świlcza
municipality made it possible to save the cultural heritage, passing it on to the next generation
during the event. Participants also received a publication prepared especially for the occasion,
which includes recipes, old customs of the region and forgotten carols. Inside, we can find
reference to websites via dedicated QR codes.
