Join us for a two-day workshop in Oslo, on the topic of creating relevant youth media content to promote the sustainable development goals in your community!

What is the workshop about?

Storytelling and visual storytelling, innovative online content creation tools, solutions and investigative journalism, youth media projects, the sustainable development goals (SDGs)

During the two-day journey, you will be together with fellow young people, activists, NGO workers, and trainers from Finland, Norway, and Sweden. You will learn about:

During the two-day journey, you will be together with fellow young people, activists, NGO workers, and trainers from Finland, Norway, and Sweden. You will learn about: 

  • storytelling and visual storytelling techniques; 

  • apps and tools to develop innovative online content to promote causes you care about; 

  • successful youth led media projects to get inspired for your own media work; 

  • solutions and investigative journalism to be able to identify and talk more about solutions for the community or global problems that bother you; 

  • the sustainable development goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations in order to transform our world for the better by 2030.

Because the workshop organizers believe in the power of co-creation, during the two days, prepare to share knowledge and skills from your current work and experience. Looking forward to learn from you!

Who can participate?

We invite young people interested in transforming the world by using their media skills power!

  • Are you living in one of the following countries?

    • Finland

    • Norway

    • Sweden

  • Are you 13-19 years old?

  • Do you want to have a stronger voice in your community in promoting the sustainable development goals (SDGs) or issues you care about?

  • Are you interested in developing your creative media skills?

  • Do you want to learn about solutions journalism and storytelling, and how to develop powerful media projects?

  • And are you willing to involve other young people in your own media projects to promote SDGs or issues you care about?

The project is co-funded by Nordic Culture Point through Nordbuk program. SDGs Youth Media Allies project covers the workshop costs, including training fees, accommodation for up to three nights (for participants out of Oslo), meals and coffee breaks, and international transport to Oslo (in the limit of 150 euro/participant).
